Install Google Play Store and Chrome on Genymotion Virtual Device

In this blog you will understand about how to install Google Play Store and Chrome on Genymotion Virtual Devices.

Here are the Steps:

  1. Download following Zips:
    1. Genymotion VD’s are built on x86 and not on ARM so we need  ARM Translation Installer v1.1
    2. Download the correct GApps for your Android version:Google Apps for Android 6.0 .
    3. you can download the old versions of GApps from here: http://www.teamandroid.com/gapps/
  2. Next open your Genymotion VM and go to the home screen
  3. Now drag&drop the Genymotion-ARM-Translation_v1.1.zip onto the Genymotion VM window.
  4. Once it asks you to flash it, click ‘OK’.
  5. Now reboot your VM using ADB (adb reboot) or simply close VM and again open it.
  6. Once you’re on the home screen again drag&drop the gapps-*-signed.zip onto your VM, and click ‘OK’ when asked.
  7. Once it finishes, Now reboot your VM using ADB (adb reboot) or simply close VM and again open it.
  8. Make sure Your VM is connected to internet.
  9. Open the Google Play Store and Sign in using your Google account
  10. First and foremost update Google Play Services app directly.
  11. Once in the Store go to the ‘My Apps’ menu and let everything update (it fixes a lot of issues).

  13. Now search for Chrome app in play Store. (Install it)
  14. if this is successful, then you are all set with play Store!!
